About NBBC
The New Birth Baptist Church of Shreveport, LA was established May of 1985. It is the first African American church in the Southern Baptist Convention for North Louisiana. We believe that the church is a local Christian community that is established by God and to Him we belong. Here, at New Birth Baptist Church, we move Ministry intentionally and consider this ministry as a refuge for those desiring to be forgiven, restored and reaffirmed in love.
Our Senior Pastor is Thomas Myles, Jr., a man who knows what his assignment is for this season and flows in his apostolic authority. To preach the unaltered Word of God is his mandate. He is supported by his wife, Quantine Myles.

The Food Pantry distributes a bounty of assorted food boxes to families in the 71101 and 71107 zip codes on the 3rd Thursday of each month. If you are in the area we are in need of volunteers to help us with this effort. The Media Ministry at NBBC is dedicated to the worldwide promotion of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by leveraging the internet through our website, live streaming and social media accounts. Evangelism is at the core of everything we do. By leveraging the internet to live stream our services the Word of God may go fourth and reach the lost, Luke 14:23. Our purpose is to first lift up Christ in our individual lives and collectively as a group, to teach the Truths of God's Word, to learn more of Christ, to be of service to others and to continually live for Christ.

The purpose of VBS is to create an unforgettable experience by sharing the gospel through Bible study, activities, worship, and even snacks. Our goal is to create evangelism opportunities, discovery Sunday School prospects and share the plan of salvation to the lost.

At NBBC, the Prayer Ministry is ever evolving as we are being led by the Holy Spirit. We collect names through our Prayer Request Lists and pray accordingly to the need being requested whether salvation, health, financial, bereavement and etc. Our season of how we pray may change at anytime. In today’s season, we are In Intercessory for the names that we have. In this season also The Prayer Ministry has been instructed to lead the Body of Christ in Prayer for Patience, Kindness and Humility as we Esteem others more Highly than ourselves! God’s Love as Paul teaches in
